The journey of aid

Medical supplies are packed in Cleveland, delivered throughout Ukraine.

Follow a single shipment through six stages — from donations across the region to the Cleveland warehouse floor, then four thousand seven hundred miles to a hospital ward.

Donations from hospitals, clinics, businesses, churches, and neighbors arrive at the Cleveland warehouse. Volunteers verify each request, inspect and sort every item by hand, then inventory, pack, and label the supplies for the Ukrainian partners and medical facilities waiting to receive them.

Container aid, 2023 – 2026

Equipment is only aid once it is unpacked.

CMA does not ship what is convenient to donate. Every container is built against written requests confirmed with Ukraine's Ministry of Health, military hospital directors, and the rehabilitation centers we have supported since 2023 — so the pallet that leaves Northeast Ohio matches a need someone in Ukraine wrote down.

The corridor has not changed since 2022 because it works: Cleveland to the Port of Gdynia in Poland, then overland to our warehouse in Zolochiv, where a Ukrainian team breaks each container down and moves it onward to military hospitals, civilian hospitals, trauma centers, ICU departments, surgical centers, training bases, and frontline stabilization points concentrated at over 20 locations focusing on facilities in the northern, eastern and southern Ukraine.

Three programs run through that corridor: the general medical equipment pipeline, wound-care initiatives, long-term partnerships with named hospitals, and rehabilitation centers that we resupply year after year rather than once.

Medical equipment & humanitarian logistics

The backbone of CMA's physical aid. More than twenty medical containers have moved on the Cleveland–Gdynia–Zolochiv route since 2023, with three more shipped in 2026 alone. Each one is a mixed load built to a request list rather than a donation pile.

Containers carry hospital and ICU equipment, surgical sets, portable ultrasound systems, ICU monitors, medical simulation equipment for the training bases, rehabilitation equipment, EcoFlow battery systems for facilities running on unstable power, medical consumables, and dental equipment that now supplies a free dental clinic for the National Guard.

Calmoseptine humanitarian initiative

Cases of medical consumables prepared for distribution — 360,000 units of wound care, delivered in two tranches.

A skin- and wound-care programme built around a single, unglamorous product that medics and rehabilitation nurses ask for constantly. Pressure injuries, moisture-related skin breakdown, and untreated wound margins turn survivable injuries into long hospitalizations — and they are preventable with supply.

In 2024 CMA distributed 180,000 units, roughly $150,000 in value, to Kharkiv Oblast hospitals, frontline medic units, stabilization points, and Eastern Front military medical units. A second tranche of 180,000 units followed across 2025–2026, directed to hospitals in Dnipro and to rehabilitation hospitals and civilian rehabilitation centers throughout Ukraine. A further shipment is planned for 2026.

Hospital & rehabilitation partnerships

Donated supplies stocked on the shelves of a Ukrainian hospital — Galychyna and Velykyi Liubin are resupplied, not visited once.

Shipping once is charity; resupplying the same institution for three years is infrastructure. CMA maintains standing relationships with military hospitals, civilian hospitals, trauma centers, ICU departments, and surgical centers — and with two rehabilitation centers in the Lviv region in particular.

The Galychyna Rehabilitation Center in Lviv receives medical equipment, rehabilitation equipment, hospital supplies, and humanitarian assistance. The Velykyi Liubin Rehabilitation Center receives rehabilitation and physical therapy equipment, medical supplies, and patient care equipment. Support extends to sites in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, Kolomya, and Irpin.

In April 2026 CMA delivered a container dedicated entirely to rehabilitation: exercise bikes, ellipticals, resistance bands, stretch straps, and apparatus built for amputees, alongside hospital beds, medical devices, therapy equipment, medical supplies, and a focused shipment of electric wheelchairs.
