Vertep is a Ukrainian Christmas tradition: costumed carolers travel house to house with a nativity play, singing for the households that welcome them in.
Across December, Cleveland carolers took that tradition through Parma, Cleveland, and the surrounding suburbs — dozens of homes, several parishes, and a long list of volunteer drivers.
The result was more than $20,000 raised for CMA's programs, given a few households at a time.
Those funds move directly into shipments and direct family support, where a single container of disposable supplies can carry a hospital through months of work.
